2.       Length of Program: Four years. Admissions for all majors are available in September every year. Admissions for Translation (Chinese-English) are available in March and September every year. .

3.       Application Deadline: 30th June for majors at Hongkou Campus (31st December for spring entrance of Translation major) and 15th May for majors at Songjiang Campus.

4.       Application Qualifications: Applications are open to foreign citizens with reliable financial support and stability who are senior-high-school graduates with an age between 18 and 50 and in good health. Residents from mainland China, Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan who have immigrated, must hold a valid foreign passport or certificate of nationality for 4 years (including) or above, and provide the record or the certificate indicating that the passport holder actually lives overseas for more than 2 years. If passport holder actually lives abroad for 9 months in a year, it will be calculated as one year. 30th of April of admission year will be the deadline for calculating the length of time.

5.       Admission Requirements and Entrance Examinations

1)      Majors at Hongkou Campus (NO ENTRANCE EXAMINATION)

A. Translation (Chinese - English): No requirement for Chinese language proficiency, but English proficiency of IELTS 5.0 or TOEFL 60 is necessary (if you don’t have IELTS or TOEFL certificate, you need to pass the English proficiency test organized by our university).

B. Chinese Language, Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL): Applicants must have Chinese proficiency of New HSK level 4 (a total of no less than 180) or one semester’s full-time Chinese training at any Chinese university. Those with New HSK level 4 (a total of no less than 195) may be enrolled to start from the second semester of the first year. Those, with New HSK level 5 (a total of no less than 180) and one year’s full-time Chinese training at any Chinese university, may be enrolled as sophomores. Students, who have an experience of 2- year or -above Chinese training at any Chinese university and Chinese proficiency of New HSK level 5 (a total of no less than 210), may be enrolled as juniors. 

C. International Economics and Trade (Chinese), Business Administration (Chinese): Applicants must have Chinese proficiency of New HSK level 4 (a total of no less than 180) or one year’s full-time Chinese training at any Chinese university. Students with New HSK level 5 (a total of no less than 180) may be enrolled to start from the second semester of the first year. Those, with New HSK level 6 (a total of no less than 180) and one year’s full-time Chinese training at any Chinese university, may be enrolled as Sophomores after passing an entrance examination organized by School of Chinese Studies and Exchange.

D. International PoliticsChinese: Applicants must have Chinese proficiency of New HSK level 4 (a total of no less than 180) or one year’s full-time Chinese training at any Chinese university.

Applicants, who would like to study from the second semester, the second or third year, need to pass an entrance examination organized by the School of Chinese Studies and Exchange. The dates are January 3 / February 14 for the second semester admission, and June 20 / August 29 for the second or third year admission.

2) Majors at Songjiang Campus (entrance examinations are required): Applicants shall have Chinese proficiency of New HSK level 5or equivalence and pass the entrance examination on subjects of English, Chinese and Mathematics. The entrance examination is to be held in Shanghai on the last Saturday in May. Students are not allowed to apply for majors related to their native languages.

6.       Application Materials

1) A printed copy of SISU Online Application Form

2) Diploma and academic record in original or notarized copy in English or Chinese. Applicants, who are about to graduate, can submit a certification of upcoming graduation.

3) Photocopy of HSK certificate (IELTS or TOEFL certificate is required for Translation major applicants)

4) Applicants who want to be enrolled as a sophomore shall also submit the certificate of full-time Chinese training and academic records in original or notarized copy in English or Chinese.

5) Photocopy of passport.

6) 2 passport photos (in size of 5cm * 4cm).

7) Application fee: 450 RMB (or 75 USD).

8) Entrance Examination fee: RMB 300 (or 50 USD), only for majors at Songjiang Campus.

If necessary, SISU will require applicants to submit some additional materials.

7. Tuition and Fees (in RMB)

1) Tuition

Hongkou Campus: 21,000 / year for Chinese Language; 24,000/year for Translation (Chinese-English), and 22,000 / year for other majors

Songjiang Campus: 21,500 / year

2)Insurance Fee

600 / year

     

 

Tuition and other fees are not refundable once paid.
