I.SCHOLARSHIP COVERAGE:

Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarships (Type A & B) is only available to new applicants who apply for Undergraduate, Master’s and Doctoral degree programs.

Type A (Full scholarship): Available only for graduate programs. Covers tuition fee and accommodation fee during the regular years of study, and provides a comprehensive insurance. Besides, the scholarship of living cost is given out every month, to M.D. students RMB 3000 per month, and to Ph.D. students RMB 3500 per month.

Type B (Partial scholarship): Available both for undergraduate and graduate programs. Covers tuition fee during the regular years of study and fee of a comprehensive insurance.

 ★  TCSOL (Chinese) of Hongkou Campus and MTCSOL is NOT covered by this scholarship.

 

III. ELIGIBILITY:

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.

2. Applicants for undergraduate programs should be a high school graduate and not older than 25 with good Chinese proficiency which meets the requirements of degree program.

Applicants for master’s programs should have obtained a bachelor degree and not be older than 35 with good Chinese proficiency which meets the requirements of degree program;

Applicants for doctoral studies should have obtained a master degree and not be older than 40 with good Chinese proficiency which meets the requirements of degree program;

3. Applicants should be diligent and hardworking with outstanding academic achievements and good attendance records.

4. Applicants should not be holding any other scholarships.

★ It is necessary to meet the other requirements of Regulations for the enrollment of students by SISU.

 

IV. APPLICATION DEADLINE: MAY 15, 2021.

 

V. APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Step 1:Apply Online

1. Apply online through SGS online application system http://study.edu.sh.gov.cn/apply/ , submit online the completed Application form for Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship and download it.

2. Apply online through SISU online application system http://apply.shisu.edu.cn , fill application information and upload E-copy of all the required application documents.

 

Step 2:Pay the application fee

Undergraduate programs at Hongkou campus: 450 RMB or overseas transfer of 75 USD.

Undergraduate programs at Songjiang campus: 750 RMB or overseas transfer of 125 USD.

Master and Doctoral programs: 800 RMB or overseas transfer of 130 USD.

Payment methods:

1.     Pay it directly in the SISU online application system

2.     Pay through bank transfer, and upload the payment voucher to SISU online application system.

Step 3: Confirm submission of SISU online application

 

VI. APPLICATION DOCUMENTS FOR SISU ONLINE APPLICATION SYSTEM (except for ID photo, all documents must be submitted in PDF format):

—For Undergraduate Programs—

1. Application form for Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship required to download, print and sign after submitting successfully at SGS Online Application System.

2. Diploma and academic record in original or notarized copy in English or Chinese. Applicants, who are about to graduate, can submit a certification of upcoming graduation.

3. Photocopy of HSK certificate.

4. Photocopy of passport.

5. If you graduate from high school in China, please submit your parents’ passport.

6. Personal ID photo

7. Offline remittance voucher of the Application Fee (or pay it directly in the application system).

★ It is necessary to meet the other required documents of Regulations for the enrollment of students by SISU.

 

—For Master and Doctoral Programs—

1.     Application form for Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship required to download, print and sign after submitting successfully at SGS Online Application System.

2.     Acceptance Letter from supervisor for PhD Applicants at SISU, (DOWNLOAD HERE). Please click here for the name list of the mentor.

3.     Highest diploma: prospective diploma recipients must submit official document issued by your current school to prove your current student status or expected graduation date. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

4.     Academic transcripts: transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with original notarized Chinese or English translations.

5.     Photocopy of HSK certificate or English proficiency certification (If applicable).

6.     A Study Plan or Research Proposal (written in Chinese or English, 800 words minimum).

7.     Two Recommendation Letters (written in Chinese or English); Master's program applicants are required to submit recommendation letters signed by professors or associate professors, and doctoral program applicants are required to submit recommendation letters signed by professors.

8.     Photocopy of passport.

9.     Personal ID photo.

10. Offline remittance voucher of the Application Fee (or pay it directly in the application system).

★ It is necessary to meet the other required documents of Regulations for the enrollment of students by SISU.

 

VII. Notes:

1.     After receiving the application documents, SISU will contact the applicants by email or phone call. Please keep your cell phone on and frequently check your email.

2.     A written examination will be organized by SISU in the end of May, 2021, and those who pass the written examination will be eligible to enter the interview. Entrance exams will be conducted by email, phone or online interview. Please check your email notification in time.

3.     After the entrance exam, the university will decide the nominated candidates. The final scholarship admission results are to be published in early July on our website http://www.oisa.shisu.edu.cn/

4.     Scholarship recipients are required to register at SISU on the date specified on admission notice. Students who arrive late without approval in advance will not have their Scholarship reserved;

Scholarship recipients shall not change their host university, the field of study, or duration of study;

Scholarship recipients must participate in annual review for scholarship. Students who fail to pass the annual review will have their scholarship suspended or cancelled.

5.     All application documents must have original documents in preparation for admission inspection. Scholarship will be revoked for those who provide false document.
