1)      PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This program is designed to provide students with a deeper understanding of regional and international affairs, with a special focus on China’s domestic and foreign affairs. This knowledge will not only help to upgrade their understanding of regional and global affairs but will also ensure that they have a better understanding of current China’s domestic and foreign affairs. It will provide advanced training for students seeking to upgrade their knowledge on China, China studies skills as well as their trans-cultural communication skills and capacities.

6)      APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS

Applications are open to non-Chinese citizens with reliable financial support and stability who are university graduates with a completed bachelor’s degree (transcript required) and in good health.

 

7)      ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

Applicants must have a good command of English, with one of the following certifications: TOEFL IBT (Internet based) test score of at least 80 points, TOEFL (computer based) test score of at least 213 points, TOEFL (paper based) test score of at least 550 points, or IELTS test score of at least 6.0.  This requirement does not apply to any applicant who has studied for at least two years at, or received a degree from an English speaking high school, college, or university.

 

8)      ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

The Entrance Examination includes both a written and oral test, usually held in May or early June. Exact examination date and place arrangements (with an option for an on-line Skype interview in special cases) will be sent out by the SISU Graduate School via email communication.

 

9)      APPLICATION DEADLINE

May 15 (Early March, April, May applications desired)

 

10)   APPLICATION MATERIALS

1) Diploma and academic record in original or notarized copy in English or Chinese.

2) Photocopy of HSK certificate or Chinese proficiency certification.*

3) Photocopy of passport.

4) Personal statement, about 1000 words, written in Chinese or in the language which meets the academic requirement of the program, including study and work experiences, research results and study plan.

5) The index and abstract of published papers and any other materials to certify your research abilities.

6) TOEFL / IELTS certificate or certification from the institution awarding your most recent degree confirming the language of instruction is English.

7) Application fee: 800 RMB (or 130 USD).

★ In certain cases, SISU may require applicants to submit some additional materials.
