2026 Chinese Language Program (Hongkou Campus)

Ⅰ. Course Arrangement:

1. Comprehensive Chinese courses (in the morning): four levels (beginner level, elementary level, intermediate level and advanced level of Chinese courses including grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension and oral training.

2.  Free Elective Courses (in the afternoon):

No requirements for Chinese: Shanghai Dialect, Chinese character writing, Chinese Phonetic Practice, Chinese calligraphy, Tai Chi, Chinese paper cutting, Activity of Chinese corner.

Ⅱ. Application deadline and registration arrangement:

1. Application deadline for Spring semester is December 31, 2025; Application deadline for Autumn semester is June 30, 2026.

2. Time for registration: March 9 & 10, 2026 for Spring semester; September 9, 10,11, 2026 for Autumn semester.

3. Time for schooling: From March 16, 2026 to July 10, 2026 for Spring semester intake, and completion certificate will be issued on July 12, 2026;

September 21, 2026 to January 15, 2027 for 2026 Autumn semester intake, and completion certificate will be issued on January 17, 2027.

★There are 20 teaching hours per week, and one teaching hour equals 45 minutes.

Enrolling in the Long-term Program for 1–3 months. Please apply according to your situation:

1. Starting from the beginning of the semester: Follow the Long-term Student guidelines and apply via the Long-term Course channel before the semester deadline. Upon submission, contact the Admissions Office or your program coordinator immediately to update your actual study duration.

2. Enrolling mid-term (opens from the 3rd week of the semester):

(1) Complete the online placement test via this link (indicate your intended study dates in the form): https://ks.wjx.com/vm/Ph9xyFq.aspx   

(2) Academic Affairs will check class vacancies and your test results, then notify you and the Admissions Office via email.

(3) Do not submit the Short-term Mid-term Admission application until you receive this confirmation.

Ⅲ. Eligibility:

Foreigners with a high school diploma or above, aged 18 years or above and below 50 years old (16-60 years old for short-term transfer studies), in good health, with reliable financial payment guarantees and guardians. If you have ever studied or lived in China, you must not have any records of violations of laws and disciplines.
