Application deadlines and Length of Program: Full-time
Program Start: September
November 20, 2025 – Chinese Government Scholarship
March 31, 2026 – Shanghai Government Scholarship
April 30, 2026 – Self-funded applicants
Length of program:
1) Academic Master's Degree: 3 years.
2) Professional Master's Degree: 2 years (Master in Translation and Interpretation 2.5 years, Law (non-law profession) 3 years.)
3) English taught M.A. programs: 2 years.
3. Eligibility:
Age limit: 55 years old.
Master’s Degree (Chinese): Applications are open to foreign citizens with reliable financial support and stability who are university graduates with a completed bachelor’s degree and in good health. Applicants must have Chinese proficiency of HSK 5 (a total of no less than 180) and above or provide documents of studying Chinese for more than two years. In the meantime, a good command of English which meets the requirements of degree studies is also required.
Master’s Degree (English): Applications are open to foreign citizens with reliable financial support and stability who are university graduates with a completed bachelor’s degree and in good health. In the meantime, a good command of English (foreign applicants with an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent English proficiency).
★During the school time in SISU, students should not participate in any other degree-seeking programs at any other universities in China from September 2026.
★ If you studied or lived in China before, you should not have any record of violation of laws or disciplines.
4. Entrance Examinations:
Entrance examination includes written and oral test, is held from late March till early June. The exact examination date and place will be informed via e-mail by the Graduate School of SISU.
5. Application Documents and Procedures:

Application Documents:
1) Diploma and academic record in original or notarized copy in English or Chinese. Applicants, who are about to graduate, can submit a certification of upcoming graduation.
2) Photocopy of HSK certificate for Chinese taught programs, and Certificate of English Language competency for English taught programs.
3) Photocopy of passport.
4) Personal statement, about 1000 words, written in Chinese or in the language which meets the academic requirement of the program, including study and work experience, research results and study plan.
5) The index and abstract of published papers and any other materials to certify your research abilities.
6) Proof of Non-Criminal Record
7) Recommendation Letters. Two letters of recommendation (written only in Chinese or English) from professor of associate professors shall be submitted.
8) Physical Examination Record (required for scholarship applicants).
9) Pay application fee online: 800 RMB (or overseas transfer of 130 USD, upload payment voucher).
★ If necessary, SISU will require applicants to submit some additional materials.
★Application fee and application documents cannot be returned once you submit.
