1. Majors Offered:

1) Chinese taught academic degree programs:

2.   Application deadlines and Length of Program:

Program Start: September

Duration: 4 years

November 20, 2025 – Chinese Government Scholarship

March 31, 2026 – Shanghai Government Scholarship

April 30, 2026 – Self-funded applicants

3. Eligibility:

Age Requirement: Under 55 years old.

Doctoral Programs (Taught in Chinese):

Applicants must hold a master's degree or above, be in good health, and have reliable financial support and a legal guardian in China.

They should have achieved HSK Level 5 (180 points or above) or provide proof of one year of Chinese language study, and possess English proficiency sufficient for academic study.

Doctoral Programs (Taught in English):

Applicants must hold a master's degree or above, be in good health, and have reliable financial support and a legal guardian in China.

They must also have an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent English proficiency.

Starting from September 2026, applicants cannot be enrolled in any other degree program at another university in China at the same time.

Applicants with previous study or residence experience in China must have no record of any legal or disciplinary violations.

 4. Entrance Examinations:

Entrance examination includes written and oral test, is held from late March till early June. The exact examination date and place will be informed via e-mail by the Graduate School of SISU.

 5. Application Documents and Procedures:

2)  Fill in the application online (http://apply.shisu.edu.cn)

3)  Upload the diploma and academic record in original or notarized copy in English or Chinese. Applicants, who are about to graduate, can submit a certification of upcoming graduation.

4)  Photocopy of HSK certificate for Chinese taught programs, and Certificate of English Language competency for English taught programs.

5)  Photocopy of passport.

6)  Personal statement, about 1000 words, written in Chinese or in the language which meets the academic requirement of the program, including study and work experience, research results and study plan.

7)  The index and abstract of published papers and any other materials to certify your research abilities.

8)  Two recommendation letters from professors. (original version in Chinese or English should be submitted)

9) Proof of Non-Criminal Record.

10) Physical Examination Record (required for scholarship applicants)

11) Pay application fee online: 800 RMB (or overseas transfer of 130 USD, upload payment voucher).

★ If necessary, SISU will require applicants to submit some additional materials.

★Application fee and application documents cannot be returned once you submit.
