Programs marked with * are based at the Hongkou Campus, while all other programs are offered at the Songjiang Campus.

II. Application and Study Duration

Application Deadlines:

January 17 (for applicants to the Chinese Government Scholarship)

March 31 (for applicants to the Shanghai Government Scholarship)

April 30 (for self-funded applicants)

Program Start Date: September 2025

Study Duration: 4 years

III. Eligibility Requirements

Age Limit: Below 55 years old

For Chinese-Taught Doctoral Programs:

Master's degree or above

Good physical health

Reliable financial support and a legal guardian

Language Requirement: HSK Level 5 (minimum score of 180) or proof of at least one year of Chinese language study

English Proficiency: Must meet the academic requirements of the chosen program

For English-Taught Doctoral Programs:

Master's degree or above

Good physical health

Reliable financial support and a legal guardian

English Proficiency: IELTS 6.0 or equivalent

Additional Requirements:

From September 2025, applicants must not be enrolled in any other degree program in China.

Applicants with previous study or residency experience in China must have no record of legal or disciplinary violations.

IV. Admission Examination

The entrance examination consists of a written test and an interview, which will be conducted between late March and early June each year. Specific schedules and arrangements will be communicated via email by the Graduate School.

2. Complete the online application form at http://apply.shisu.edu.cn.

3. Submit the following documents:

(1)Degree Certificate & Academic Transcripts: Original or notarized copies (in Chinese or English). Final-year students may submit an official letter of expected graduation.

(2)Language Proficiency Proof:

HSK certificate for Chinese-taught programs

English proficiency certificate for English-taught programs

(3)Copy of Passport (valid for the duration of study)

(4)Personal Statement: Around 1,000 words in Chinese or the corresponding foreign language of the applied program. It should include educational background, work experience, research achievements, and study plans.

(5)List of Published Papers & Research Materials (if applicable)

(6)Two Letters of Recommendation from professors (in Chinese or English)

(7)Certificate of No Criminal Record

(8)Physical Examination Report (mandatory for scholarship applicants)

(9)Application Fee Payment Receipt:

RMB 800 (domestic payment) or USD 130 (international payment) Please upload payment proof

VI. Tuition Fees

Tuition Fee: RMB 28,000 per academic year
